Fear Of Missing Out As A Developer

I've been involved in discussions related to FOMO in a discord server. So, In this article, I want to share some of my thoughts on the same.

I've not completely written the article & I'll keep adding things when they come to my head ๐ŸŒฑ

Let's Start ๐Ÿ

FOMO means Fear Of Missing Out. The programming world is changing so rapidly that beginners always rush to learn new trending tech.

And often they feel the fear to miss out on something that might impact their career or goals. But It's actually a myth.

Beginners think what the person is learning or doing that might be more beneficial or rewarding, but it's actually not the case always.

Don't switch between technologies so often without completing your current one just for the sake of missing out.

You don't have to know all things in the world, just a few things and be a master of them. You can't be a doctor and a pilot at the same time.

Trust the fucking process. It's taking time to learn is not means it's going to work out for you.

Don't compare yourself to others ahead of you. Everyone s in the right place of their life, no one going to get late.

Keep patience, and Never ever give up.

Work to be an Expert, not an Amateur ๐Ÿงก

I am going through that moment right now, it has been only months since I started and I think that I am not capable of learning so many things.

I can understand you Gustavo Manchuca

Firstly, You've to understand you don't have to learn everything & It's biggest mistake many people make when starting out in programming world. You should focus on one thing & try to master it. Then, You can move to any other language ๐Ÿ˜€

Hey Jatin,

It is so easy to feel like your missing out. Like how can one master: react, next, gatsby, angular, vue, yournextframework.js...

Iโ€™ve felt like that many times and it comes down to trusting your gut and stepping back. Do what you do well and stick to it.

I find it really good this topic is addressed! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ”ฅ
